The Elkhorn Lodge has been host to thousands of visitors, worldwide, for 50 years. Take advantage of our money saving train-lodging combination packages. Our country lodge is nestled on the banks of the Rio Chama where blue-ribbon trout fishing awaits. Our cozy log facility includes 11 fully equipped cabins, 22 one and two bed motel rooms, all new beds, and a riverside modular vacation home, all with direct dial phones, cable television, and full baths. The beautiful lush grass-covered Chama Valley is located at the foot of the majestic Cumbres Mountains. The Chama area boasts some of the most spectacular scenery in the Rocky Mountains. The Elkhorn Lodge is ideally located on the main highway leading into Chama. Cabins: 11 country cabins are fully-equipped with kitchens, full baths, Cable TV, and telephone. Our cabins accommodate from two to ten people, and are excellent for small groups and families. Each cabin has its own porch for relaxing and whiling away the time. A two-day minimum is required on all cabins during peak season. Motel Rooms: 22 one and two-bed motel rooms, all with direct-dial telephones and Cable TV. On 10 beautiful acres of Cottonwood, lush green grass, and access to the Rio Chama on the west side of the property. Open year round. The Elkhorn Cafe: Hungry? Our restaurant specializes in home cooked American and New Mexican dishes. Our 60 seat cafe is one of the most popular eateries in northern New Mexico. The Elkhorn Cafe is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner daily, and serves up favorite New Mexican specialty dishes as well as delicious home-style fare. Breakfast at the Elkhorn Cafe is a great way to start your day! Our outdoor patio offers open-air dining and beverages in-season. Activities: your perfect vacation escape begins at the Elkhorn Lodge, no matter what the reason for your visit. NEW Chuckwagon Cowboy Dinner with western entertainment riverside on Saturday evenings in summer. Mountain bike rentals on site. There is no lack of outstanding outdoor activities in the Chama Valley area. It is our goal to provide you with a memorable vacation. Chama Valley area offers excellent hunting, fishing, boating, horseback riding, hiking, cross-country skiing, snowmobiling, snowshoeing , mountain-biking, photographer's paradise, wildlife viewing, the Cumbres & Toltec Scenic Railroad, and whitewater rafting. Soak in our 8 person jacuzzi tub year round! It is enclosed to ensure you stay warm in winter. We will conveniently book your horseback riding, river rafting, train rides, guided fishing trips and kayaking. We offer snowmobile tours in the winter, from 2 hours to full day rides. Hunting: Chama's surrounding areas provides some of the best hunting in the world. Elk and deer flourish in the wide open spaces of the Chama Valley. The Elkhorn Lodge has catered to the avid hunter for over 30 years, providing quiet comfort in a scenic atmosphere at very reasonable rates. So breakout that old dusty 30-30, and try your luck! The Elkhorn Lodge welcomes Groups, Tours and Family Reunions. Pets are also welcome at the Elkhorn Lodge, but must be kept on a leash and not left unattended.
