Colorado Springs Metro - Colorado Springs Labor Day Lift Off @ Memorial Park - Hot air ballooning in Colorado Springs started in 1976 bringing fun and excitement throughout the Labor Day Weekend for the entire family. The Opening ceremony starts at 6:30am, with the first wave of inflation's beginning at 7am on Saturday and Sunday. After all the launches are complete, stick around to enjoy watching the Wings of Blue U.S. Air Force Skydiving Team Demonstration. Later each morning there is an Ultimate Frisbee Exhibition and then Paddle Boarding sessions on Prospect Lake. You can even purchase a ride from Rainbow Ryders for an experience of a lifetime: Early morning to evening August 31 - September 2, 2024

Aug 31 - South Fork Area - 3rd Annual Alder Ass Race South Forks Pack Burro Race @ Brown's Park, South Fork - The WPBA sanctioned burro race offers 2 courses through National Forest - the Mini Course is 3-miles long mostly on paved roads with a 75 foot increase in elevation - the Standard course in 11-miles along forest service roads is challenging, rocky, exposed tree roots, and include water crossings with 1,100 foot increase in elevation: Saturday 10am-3pm August 31, 2024
